Day 1:Arrival in Marrakech ➝ Guided Sightseeing Tour of the City (Approx. 3 to 4 hours of guided exploration)

The 1 Wek Morocco itinerary begins with a pickup from the airport by an experienced driver. You will be transferred to your riad in the Medina, where you can check in and take some time to relax. Later, a local city guide will accompany you on a three-hour guided tour, allowing you to embrace the vibrant culture, fascinating history, and breathtaking beauty of Marrakech.

During the tour, you will visit highlights such as the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Old Medina (market). Continue to the Koutoubia Mosque and the lively Jamaa el-Fna Square. After saying goodbye to your local guide, you are free to explore the Medina at your own pace. Enjoy dinner at Jamaa el-Fna Square before returning to your riad for an overnight stay.

Day 2:Marrakech ➝ Tizi N’Tichka ➝ Ait Ben Haddou ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ Rose Valley ➝ Boumalne Dades (330 km – Approx. 6 Hours’ Drive with stops)

Today, we depart from Marrakech and travel toward Boumalne Dades, arriving in the afternoon. Along the way, we will make several stops to admire the magical scenery and interesting sites. About two hours after leaving Marrakech, we stop at Tizi N’Tichka, nestled in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. We then continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, where you are free to explore at your own pace.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant near the kasbah. Afterward, we continue our journey toward Boumalne Dades, passing through the famous city of Ouarzazate and the enchanting Valley of Roses. Upon arrival in Boumalne Dades, we make a short visit to the breathtaking Dades Gorge and the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations. Finally, you will be dropped off at your riad for an overnight stay.

Day 3:Dades Gorge ➝ Todgha Gorge ➝ Sahara Desert of Merzouga (250 km – Approx. 6 Hours’ Drive with stops)

After finishing breakfast and packing your luggage, we visit the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations and the breathtaking gorge located between Msamrir and Boumalne. It is an incredible site where travelers can admire stunning views of mountains, rivers, and winding roads. From the Dades Gorge, we continue toward the Todgha Gorges, which stretch for about 25 kilometers. These impressive canyons are carved into solid rock, with the year-round Todgha River flowing through them.

Enjoy a walk along the river before we continue toward the Rissani Market. Upon arrival, we take a half-hour walking tour to see how different it is from the markets of Marrakech. After lunch in Rissani, we drive to the Merzouga Desert. Experience a camel trek into the desert, admiring the ever-changing landscapes of the dunes. Spend the night in a luxury camp in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 4:Sahara Desert Excursion by 4×4 ➝ Visit Nomads, Gnawa Village & Oasis (30 km – Approx. 4 Hours of Exploration)

Our journey to see the Gnawa musicians begins today. We will also visit a fossil museum and enjoy tea with real nomads who live behind the Erg Chebbi dunes. Later, we continue to Mefiss, where many mines still exist even after Morocco’s independence, and where some locals continue extracting fossils, eyeliner, and minerals from depths of 100 to 300 meters underground.

Next, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant specializing in traditional Berber pizza. After lunch, we continue our explorations with a visit to one of the area’s oases. If you would like to try quad biking in the desert, simply inform your driver so he can arrange it. Afterward, we transfer you to your hotel. If you still wish to enjoy time on the dunes, you may try sandboarding (free rental). Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 5:Sahara Desert ➝ Erfoud ➝ Ziz Valley ➝ Midelt ➝ Cedar Forest ➝ Ifrane ➝ Fes (470 km – 9 hours’ drive with stops)

Our visit to Morocco’s southeast ends here. Today, we leave the Sahara Desert and drive toward Fes, known as the scientific capital of Morocco. Along the way, we stop at a charming panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Ziz Valley. Later, we break for lunch in either Zaida or Midelt. We then visit the Cedar Forest, home to the wild Barbary macaques. You may feed them if you wish, but please be cautious, as they can be unpredictable.

Afterward, we continue to Ifrane, often called the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco. Take some time to stroll through this enchanting town before we continue our journey. Later in the day, we arrive in Fes, where you will spend two wonderful nights in a traditional riad located in the heart of the Medina.

Day 6:Fes Sightseeing Tour (Full-day guided tour – Medina, historical monuments & panoramic viewpoints)

Today is dedicated entirely to discovering the rich history of this ancient city. The city tour begins at the gates of the golden Royal Palace. We then move into the ancient Medina, a maze of narrow alleys and bustling markets where centuries-old traditions come to life. Take time to admire the architectural wonders of the Bou Inania Madrasa and Al-Attarine Madrasa. Discover Fes’ historic importance at the University of Al Quaraouiyine, recognized as the world’s oldest continuously operating university.

From the panoramic views at the Merenid Tombs to the peaceful atmosphere of the Jnan Sbil Gardens, every corner of Fes reveals a new layer of its storied past and vibrant culture. At the end of the day, say goodbye to your local guide and return to your riad for a second overnight stay.

Day 7:Fes Transfer to the Airport (Approx. 15 km – 20 to 30 minutes’ drive)

Today is the final day of your 1 Week Morocco itinerary. We will transfer you directly to Fes Airport at the time of your preference, marking the end of our services.

If you prefer to end the tour in Fes instead of driving back to Marrakech, we highly recommend our One Week Morocco Tour from Marrakech. Or if you prefer Northern tour, we highly suggest our 7 Days Northern Morocco tour. For travelers who wish to enjoy a longer and more relaxed experience, we also recommend our 8 Day Morocco Tour from Marrakech, as well as the 9 Day Morocco itinerary.

The pace allows travelers to enjoy each destination without feeling overwhelmed, especially in the desert and imperial cities.

The tour is not physically demanding and is suitable for most travelers. Activities mainly involve short walks in medinas, valleys, and gorges. Camel rides are optional, and alternatives such as 4×4 transfers can be arranged for guests who prefer not to ride camels.

Will I have free time, or is everything guided?

Is the long drive across Morocco comfortable?

Yes. All long drives are done in modern, air-conditioned vehicles with regular breaks. Scenic stops, cafés, viewpoints, and short walks are included to make the journey comfortable and enjoyable rather than tiring.

Is this tour suitable for first-time visitors to Morocco?

Things to Know Before Your Trip:

Know Before You Go

Travel Documents

Make sure you bring all required travel documents, including a valid passport and any necessary visas for Morocco. Some nationalities may require additional permits, so it’s always best to check current entry regulations before your trip. Keeping digital backups of your documents on your phone is helpful in case of loss and makes hotel check-ins smoother.

Clothing & Essentials

Morocco’s landscapes vary widely, so pack clothing suitable for changing temperatures. Comfortable, breathable outfits are ideal for daytime, while evenings—especially in desert or mountain regions—can be much colder. Bring essential items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and reliable walking shoes. A small backpack is useful for carrying your belongings during daily activities.

Weather Conditions

Weather conditions differ greatly from one region to another. Desert areas are hot during the day but cool at night, while mountain regions can be cold even in summer. Checking the weather forecast before your tour will help you pack properly and stay comfortable throughout your journey.

Hydration & Snacks

Staying hydrated is important, especially during longer drives or outdoor activities. We recommend carrying bottled water and light snacks such as fruit or energy bars. Your guide will make regular stops at cafés and local shops where you can purchase refreshments and discover local flavors.

Health & Safety

Your safety is our top priority. Our guides are experienced professionals who provide assistance and advice throughout your journey. If you have medical conditions or mobility concerns, please let us know in advance so we can adapt your tour accordingly. Following your guide’s instructions during activities ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.

Photography

Morocco offers endless photo opportunities, from desert dunes to ancient kasbahs. You are welcome to take photos, but always ask permission before photographing people. To avoid running out of battery during long days, we recommend bringing a portable charger or power bank, as some remote areas have limited electricity access.

Cash & Payments

While credit cards are accepted in many cities, smaller villages and rural areas often operate on a cash-only basis. Carrying Moroccan dirhams (MAD) is recommended for small purchases, tips, and personal expenses. ATMs are available in most cities, but less common in remote areas, so withdrawing cash beforehand is helpful.

Respect Local Culture

Morocco is a culturally rich and welcoming country. When visiting traditional villages, religious sites, or rural areas, modest clothing is appreciated. Your guide will explain local customs and etiquette to help you interact respectfully. Learning a few basic Arabic words like “Salam” (hello) and “Shukran” (thank you) can enhance your experience.

Transportation Comfort

All our tours use modern, air-conditioned vehicles designed for comfort during short and long journeys. Throughout the drive, your guide will arrange regular breaks for restrooms, stretching, photos, and snacks. Our vehicles are maintained to high safety standards to ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride.

Flexibility & Personalization

We understand that every traveler has different interests. Our tours are designed to be flexible, allowing you to adjust timing, add optional stops, or personalize parts of the itinerary. Simply let your guide know your preferences, and we will do our best to make your experience memorable and tailored to your needs.
