Today is a day to dive into the history of this ancient city of Fes, and no one disputes that this city is the most authentic in Morocco as a whole. Idriss I built the city in 789. Idriss was a descendant of the Messenger and Prophet Mohamed. Until 1912, Fez served as the royal capital of Morocco under French rule. Fez is considered the oldest city in Morocco, having existed for more than thirteen centuries. Our visit today includes many historical sites, such as the Golden Palace gates. It’s really a massive gate that contains intricate woodwork and beautiful, colorful tiles. It is a treat for the eyes.

Furthermore, we continue our visit to the pottery factory, where the craftsmen make a variety of tools, such as ceramic vessels, tiles, and much more. You will be truly amazed by this wonderful world of pottery. Next to the magnificent Panorama, known as Borj Sud or South Tower in English, the old Medina of Fes serves as a backdrop for a stunning photo.

What an amazing journey we’ve set out on with Mohamed from Marrakech to Tangier. Due to the fact that this journey really is an experience of a lifetime, I could even give it a hundred stars. The whole journey was a huge success for my little family and myself. This family business is fantastic, and I will be sure to tell all my American friends about it. I would suggest this 7 Days in Marrakech to everyone.
