6 Days of Morocco

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech » Transfer to the Riad

Day 2: Marrakech » Tizi N T’ichka » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Ouarzazate » Rose Valley » Boumalne Dades

The Second of your Morocco Tour starts in Marrakech and continues to Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we will visit the following places: Tizi N’Tichka Pass has an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level; it’s a point between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Also visit Ait ben Haddou Kasbah, Morocco’s most famous Kasbah, which dates back to the 11th century. Next, we journey to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Africa, a city renowned for hosting numerous film shoots. A century and a half ago, Ouarzazate was only a military settlement before becoming one of Morocco’s most famous cities in the world. One last stop is in Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Rose City. Finally, we move on to Boumalne Dades to stay overnight.

Day 3: Dades Gorge » Todgha Gorge » Sahara Desert of Merzouga

Once you finish breakfast and pack your luggage, we visit the Monkey Finger Rock and the breathtaking gorge between Msamrir and Boumalne. It’s an incredible site where every traveler can witness the view of mountains, rivers, and curves. From the gorge of Dades, we drive to the Gorges of Todgha, which extend over a distance of 25 kilometers. They are solid, rocky components that do not break easily. The turbid Todgha Valley, flowing year-round, penetrates them.

After strolling along the river, we will continue our journey towards the Rissani Market. Once we arrive, we will take a half-hour walking tour of the market to see how different it is from Marrakech’s market. After enjoying lunch in Rissani, we will journey to the Merzouga Desert. Experience a camel trek into the desert, marveling at the ever-changing landscapes of the dunes. Stay overnight at a luxury camp in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 4: Sahara Desert Excursion by 4*4 (Visit Nomads, Gnawa, Oasis)

Our journey to see the Gnawa musicians begins today. We’ll also visit a fossil museum and have tea with the actual nomads who live behind the Erg Chebbi dunes. Later on, in Mefiss, where many mines exist even after Morocco’s independence, some locals are still extracting fossils, eyeliner, and minerals from 100 to 300 meters underground. Next, we will have lunch at a local restaurant that specializes in making Berber pizza. After that, we continue our explorations and visit one of the area’s oases! If you are interested in experiencing the thrill of quad biking in the desert, please let your driver know so he can make the necessary arrangements. Afterward, we will transfer you to the hotel. If you still want to enjoy your time in the dunes, take the “sandboard (free rental)”. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Sahara Desert » Ziz Valley » Medilt » Cedar Forest » Ifrane » Fes

Our visit to Morocco’s southeast ends here! Today we leave the Sahara Desert and drive to Fes, known as the scientific capital of Morocco. Along the way, we will stop at the charming panoramic view overlooking the Ziz Valley. Later, we will stop for lunch in either Zaida or Medilt; additionally, we will visit the Cedar Forest, where the wild Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them if you wish, but be careful; they are a bit dangerous. Afterward, we continue to Ifrane, the little Switzerland of Morocco. Take enough time to wander in this enchanting city before we hit the road again. Later on, we continue to Fes, where we will spend two incredible nights at a traditional Riad located in the heart of the Medina.

Day 6: Transfer to the Airport of Fes

We will transfer you to the International Airport of Fes on the final day of your 6-day Morocco tour.

During our 6-day tour across Morocco, the seven of us made stops at locations including Marrakech, the Sahara Desert, and Fes. It was an incredible trip with Mohamed from Africa North Journey. He invited us to lunch in his home, provided us with all the help we needed, and made sure we had everything we required. He also gave us a detailed history of Morocco. This is a tour I will never forget.
