Day 3: Marrakech » Tizi N’Tichka » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Ouarzazate » Rose Valley » Boumalne Dades (Gorge)

Today, prepare to squeeze a lot of historical facts and new discoveries into your day. Following a traditional breakfast in your riad, we set out for the enchanting city of Boumalne. We will stop and rest several times while going. The first is in the center of the Atlas Mountains at Tizi N’Tichka, a stunning pass. The elevation at the area is 2260 meters above sea level. Drive straight to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah from there.

Please feel free to climb the kasbah’s stairs to the top of the hill, where you can admire the gorgeous oasis and river. Take a walk inside the old structures to learn about how the Berbers built their dwellings in antiquity. After lunch, spend some free time touring Kalaat M’Gouna, a well-known picturesque small town surrounded by roses. Finally, arrive in Boumalne Dades, where you will spend a relaxing night in a wonderful riad.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades » Tinghir » Todgha Gorge » Rissani » Sahara Desert (Camel Ride)

After breakfast and bag packing, we take a quick journey to the interesting Dades Gorge. Prepare to be blown away by the stunning view that awaits you there. Following that, we head south to Todgha Gorge, a natural wonder known for its magnificent limestone cliffs that can reach 300 meters in height in certain places. In certain areas, the gorge narrows to just 10 meters wide, creating an incredible and almost supernatural scene. The Gnaoua people, known for their peculiar music and spiritual customs, have a considerable population in Rissani, the city that serves as the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Traditional souks, or markets, are another prominent feature of the town. They are characterized by a lively atmosphere and an extensive assortment of goods, including livestock, spices, fabrics, and handicrafts. Once we arrive, mount your camel and ride to the desert camp near to Merzouga. After arriving at the camp, have a delicious dinner, dance to the beat of Berber drums, and complete your journey under the stars.

Day 5: Sahara Desert Excursion by 4*4

Our journey to see the Gnawa musicians begins today. We also visit a fossil museum and have tea with actual nomads. The area is well-known for its fossil trove and wealth. Next, eat lunch at a nearby restaurant that specializes in pizza. After that, continue your exploration of one of the area’s oases! If you still want to spend the day, you can rent a quad and drive around the dunes or “sandboard (free rental)”. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 6: Sahara Desert » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Midelt » Cedar Forest » Ifrane » Fes

The ride from the magnificent Merzouga desert to the tiny city of Fes is a compelling tour over Morocco’s unique environment and cultural tapestry. As the sun sets over the Merzouga dunes, we’ll leave the wide desert behind. The journey travels through Erfoud, which is famed for its fossil-rich terrain and untamed panoramas ornamented with stone-set prehistoric artifacts. Next, head to the Ziz Valley, where lush palms swing in sync with the soft wind, providing a stark contrast to the dry sands beyond.

As we go farther north, the surrounding terrain drastically changes and the Atlas Mountains, with their enormous peaks rising over the horizon, become visible. Visit the Cedar Forest afterwards, a tribute to the tenacity of nature where old trees tell ancient stories. Subsequently, they head towards Ifrane, traversing the small town dubbed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” where we are welcomed by refined architecture and immaculate surroundings.
