9 Days tour from Marrakech
This is a 9-day Morocco tour that departs from Marrakech and ends in Tangier. This Moroccan tour, which lasts 9 days and 8 nights, will let you discover the magic and exotic wonders of this northern African country (Morocco). Once your plane lands in Marrakech, a driver guide from Africa North Journeys will pick you up to the Riad for overnight stay. The second day of your tour, you will be making a sightseeing tour of the Red City (Marrakech) with an expert tour guide. The third day, leave Marrakech and head to Boumalne Dades via Tizi N T’ichka pass nestled at the middle of High Atlas Mountains, also via the Majestic Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou, and Ouarzazate city. Once you are in Boumalne Dades, visit the Monkey Finger Rock and the enchanting Gorge.
On the fourth day, head to Merzouga’s Sahara Desert via the gorgeous gorges of Todgha and the Market of Rissani. The fifth day, make an excursion around the region of Merzouga to explore the Gnawa, nomads, and many more. On the sixth day, leave the Golden Dunes and move on to Fes via the breathtaking Cedar Forest of Azrou and the Little Switzerland (Ifrane). The seventh day, visit the most ancient city in the world (Fes) with an experienced local guide. On the eighth day, continue the 9 days in Morocco to Chefchaouen, known as the Blue City or the Blue Pearl. On the ninth day, drive to Tangier, where the tour will end.
A highly experienced tour guide will pick you up from the airport to begin your 9-day Morocco tour from Marrakech. After you meet the guide at the exit door of the airport, he will transfer you to your traditional riad in the medina for the night stay.
Today, the focus is solely on exploring Marrakech. A local tour of the area will show you all of Marrakech’s fascinating historical sites. Start your journey with strolls in the ancient Medina, followed by a visit to the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, a remarkable showcase of Moroccan architecture adorned with intricate carvings and mosaics.
Additionally, explore the Saadian Tombs, preserving the grandeur of the past. Afterward, visit the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, whose towering minaret dominates the skyline. After a pause for lunch, visit Bahia Palace, with its lush gardens and exquisite interiors reflecting the splendor of 19th-century Moroccan royalty. Finally, visit the heart of Marrakech, which is Jamaa el F’na Square, where you can taste many different foods. Later, leave your guide and return to the Riad for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Marrakech » Tizi N’Tichka » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Ouarzazate » Rose Valley » Boumalne Dades (Gorge)
After breakfast, we leave Marrakech and drive on to Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we will witness the magical landscapes that lie between Marrakech and Boumalne Dades. Once we reach the High Atlas Mountains, we will stop at Tizi N T’ichka Pass, which has an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level. From there, we continue directly to Ait ben Haddou Kasbah, a World Heritage Site established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1987. Here, hundreds of movies were shot, such as The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, Kingdom of Heaven, and many more.
After lunch near the Kasbah, we continue to Ouarzazate. The inhabitants here are Berber, and the name of the city means Without Noise. Take some pictures in front of the ancient Taourirt Kasbah, and let’s set off again to Kalaat M’Gouna, a city famous for the annual festival of roses in April. Later, we move to our destination, Boumalne Dades, for an overnight stay in a lovely Riad.
Once you have finished breakfast and took a much-needed shower, we pay a visit to Dades Goges, one of the natural wonders where rivers, mountains, rocks, and curves meet together to form a wonderful view for the eyes. Witness the magical landscape, then we hit the road to another enchanting gorge called Todgha, which will absolutely amaze you with its breathtaking river and the rocks that reach up to 300 meters high. Feel free to wander around the place and appreciate it the place.
Later, after a break for lunch, we leave for the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, mount your camel to cross the Golden Dunes. In the middle of the dunes you will make a pause to take in the sunset view, then continue your journey to the desert camp, where tea and sweets await you. Enjoy dinner and the desert vibes of Berber music that the staff creates. Overnight stay in a lovely tent.
Today begins after a hearty breakfast at your desert camp. Either you elect to ride the camels back to the starting location or you can choose to return in an off-road 4×4. Our first stop today, after meeting your driving guide from Africa North Journeys, will be the Berber nomads who live behind Merzouga’s golden dunes. Our visit’s purpose is to discover the nomad’s life and lifestyle.
After tipping them, we move on to Mefiss, an area rich of minerals where many mines were founded after Morocco’s independence. Next, we visit Khamlia village, where we will have the opportunity to listen to and enjoy Gnawa music. Later, after lunch, we take a leisurely walk at one of the desert’s oases. In the afternoon, we will drop you off at a charming hotel located at the edge of the dunes for an overnight stay.
On the sixth day of your 9-day tour from Marrakech, it begins with a last-time sunrise watch. Then leave the desert and continue the journey to Fes. Along the way, we will make stops to explore the bleakness or to use the restroom. Today’s first stop is the Ziz Valley. It is one of the biggest African oases. The oasis stretches over 150 kilometers in length. The lush palm trees that dot the terrain provide an air of tranquility and beauty, making for an idyllic setting. Next, we continue to Midelt for lunch, then next to Cedar Forest.
In order to gain food, the macaques will approach any visitor and perform pranks on them. Therefore, use caution while feeding them. Later, head to Ifrane. Morocco has some of the cleanest and most beautiful towns. One of these is Little Switzerland Ifrane. Thereafter we continue to Fes (the night stay at a Traditional Riad located in the Medina)
Diving into 13th-century terrain is unavoidable. Your local tour guide will lead you on a day of exploration. Fez is one of Morocco’s oldest cities and one of the four Morocco’s imperial cities. Today’s sightseeing tour includes many historical sites such as The Golden Palace gates. The doors are adorned with wood, mosaics, and magnificent Moroccan tiles that evoke a sense of monarchy. The exterior doors portray the splendor of the palace’s interior, shielded from public view. No one disputes that the copper doors are a drop in a sea of marvels.
Later on, you will visit the Ceramics Pottery, where skilled artisans manufacture heart-pounding items. Plates, bowls, glass, and other ceramic dishes are examples. The next stop is Borj Sud, or Southern Tower, which offers a stunning perspective of the ancient Medina and its tiny alleyways. Once you find yourself lost in the Medina, you have three hours to explore the quaint ancient alleyways. The three-hour tour includes the Najjarine Fountain, Medrasa Bouanania, and Quaraouin’s Mosque and University, which Fatima El Fehria, an industrious and ambitious lady, built. After the sightseeing tour with the local guide ends your driver will pick you up back to the Riad.
The 9-day tour from Marrakech takes us today to the north, specifically to Chefchaouen, leaving Fes behind. When you’re ready, we’ll hit the road. Today, we have a lot of interesting sights to explore. Once we reach the imperial city of Meknes, free to explore the following historical landmarks (Bab el Mansour, Hri Souani, Sahrij, Qara Prison, and the world-famous Moulay Ismail Mausoleum). After that, we’ll continue driving to Volubilis.
The epicenter of Roman influence, with the most significant archaeological sites and a metropolis buried under rubble, attests to this. The best approach to understanding this amazing city’s history is to hire a native tour guide. Chefchaouen, the blue region of Morocco, is our next stop after lunch.
