Morocco itinerary: 6 Day Morocco tour

Day 1:Arrival in Fes - Sightseeing tour with a Local Guide

Welcome to Morocco! The 6 Day itinerary Morocco starts with a welcoming airport pickup by one of our excellent tour guides. We will transfer you from the airport to a traditional riad for room check-in. Once we leave the luggage in the room, we embark on an exploration day to learn about the history of the ancient city of Fes. With a native guide of the area, the city tour begins at the golden royal palace’s gates. Moving on to the ancient medina, a maze of narrow alleys and bustling markets where centuries-old traditions come to life, feel free to marvel at the architectural wonders of Bou Inania Madrasa and Al-Attarine Madrasa. Discover Fes’ historic significance at the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the world’s oldest continuously operating university.

From the panoramic views of the Merenid Tombs to the tranquil ambiance of the Jardin Jnan Sbil, every corner of Fes unveils a new layer of its storied past and vibrant culture, promising an unforgettable journey through Morocco’s imperial city. At the end of the day, say good-bye to your local guide and head back on the road to the Riad for a second overnight.

Day 2:Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Get up early today; we have a long journey to the Sahara Desert ahead of us. Have your breakfast, and let us continue the adventure. During our journey, we will stop at several amazing locations. Just an hour after leaving Fes, we make a stop at Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its resemblance to Swiss architecture, immaculate streets, and abundant snowfall compared to other cities. Afterward, we make a second stop at the cedar forest, which is renowned for its wild monkey population. Commercial ships from Gibraltar carry emigrating monkeys.

Later, make a pause for lunch, then we continue driving to Ziz Valley, a breathtaking panoramic view where only palm trees grow up to form a great oasis. After nine hours of driving, we will finally arrive at the Sahara Desert. In Merzouga Desert you will be traversing the golden dunes to arrive at your camp. Feel free to ask the camel guide to stop whenever you want, whether for pictures or to catch a breathtaking sunset. At the camp, a delicious Berber dinner awaits with an ambience of drums and music around the campfire. Overnight in a wonderful tent.

Day 3:Merzouga Desert Excursion Visit (Nomads, Gnawas, Oases, and Meffis Mountain)

Wake up early and enjoy the sunrise atmosphere at the top of the closest dune behind or in front of your desert camp. Let the cold, fresh air of the morning hit you. Take a much-needed shower and a delicious breakfast, then let’s get to discovering the hidden, fascinating sites of the Sahara Desert that undoubtedly will amaze you! We begin with a delightful 4×4 journey through the dunes to experience the true essence of adventure. Numerous annual rallies, including Dakar, have already etched their mark on the route. First, the route will lead us to the hospitable Nomad families, who have set up their handwoven tents behind the Erg Chebbi dunes, transforming their source of income into a welcoming environment where tourists can enjoy a glass of tea.

Visit Eyeliner Mine – Gnawa Village and Oases!

Later, we proceed to the famous eyeliner mine, discovered by the French during their colonial period, where some locals continue to work even after independence. Next, we continue driving to another destination, Khamlia Village, where you can enjoy listening to some great African rhythms called Gnawa music. Pause for lunch, then set off again for a walk-in at one of the fabulous oases to discover what’s growing up in the desert. Afterwards, we drop you off at a lovely hotel for the night.

Day 4:Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todgha Gorge - Boumalne Dades

A long day is about to begin. After a morning meal to gather energy and vitality, we head towards the city of Rissani, the cradle of the founding of the honorable Alawite state. Here, time travel combines with diving into Morocco’s most ancient, authentic markets. The city is the heart of regional commerce, thanks to its thousand-scented market. The market square is a place for meetings and exchanges, where merchants (traders) receive visitors from hundreds of nearby palaces. There is exceptional movement in the market on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays in particular. If you happen to visit on a live market day, you will experience both amazement and entertainment.

Visit Todgha Gorge!

Thereafter, continue to Todgha Gorge, where the magic of nature is rewarding, and the purity of the enchanting atmosphere lies. The place is peaceful, and the sound of the water and birds fills souls with solace. But separation, no matter how long it lasts, is inevitable. The trip will then continue to Boumalne Dades, which is our destination to spend the night amidst majestic mountains rising everywhere.

Day 5:Boumalen Ddaes - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Tizi N’Tichka - Marrakech

From Boumalne Dades, we leave for Marrakech, passing through many wonderful places that can mark a great moment in your memory. We begin our journey to the magnificent city of Kalaat M’Gouna, where you can immerse yourself in the Rose Valley and explore one of the local women’s cooperatives that specialize in Producing various products from roses. From Kalaat M’Gouna, we proceed to Ouarzazate, a city that ceased to exist for a century and was initially a military settlement. The construction of numerous film studios in Ouarzazate has led to the city’s rise to fame and development.

To Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah!

Afterward, the fortified castle of Ait Ben Haddou, which dates back to the 11th century of its construction, settled not far from Ouarzazate. Films such as Lawrence of Arabia in 1971, Games of Thrones in 2012, and Kingdom of Heaven in 2003–2004 have shot hundreds of scenes here. From there, we continue to Marrakech via Tizi N T’ichka Pass, at an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level. We will take a moment to take in the magnificent atmosphere before continuing our journey to Marrakech, but not before stopping for a delicious lunch. Upon arrival, we transfer you to the Riad for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Marrakech - Airport Transfer

Start your 6-day Morocco tour with a delectable breakfast on the last day. We transport you to Marrakech International Airport when you’re ready to depart.
