Morocco itinerary 10 days from Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! The Morocco travel itinerary of 10 days starts with a warm airport pickup by one of our excellent tour guides. From the airport, you will be transferred to a completely traditional riad for an overnight stay.

Your 10 Days in Morocco tour starts with a perfect way to explore Marrakech and the shining sites that this Moroccan imperial city has to offer. Morocco is undoubtedly a rich country, which means every city has something special, historical, cultural, or even traditional. Africa North Journeys Agency has arranged an expert local guide to lead and help you discover Marrakech and all its hidden gems that never end. Starting with Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and ending with a memorable wander through the Medina and Jamaa el Fna Square. End your day with some relaxation in one of the overlooking cafés in the square.

On day three of your tour, we depart from Marrakech toward the mesmerizing city of Boumalne Dades. Be prepared to be fascinated along the way. Today’s first stop is Tizi N’Tichka, a picturesque mountain pass in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, rising 2,260 meters above sea level. From there, we drive directly to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a historic site registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1987, located between Marrakech and Ouarzazate.

Feel free to climb the Kasbah’s stairs to reach the top of the hill and enjoy breathtaking views of the oasis and river. You will also have time to stroll through the old buildings to gain insight into how ancient Berbers built their homes. After enjoying a leisurely lunch, we continue our journey to Kalaat M’Gouna, a charming small town famous for its roses. Finally, we arrive in Boumalne Dades, where we spend a peaceful night in a lovely Riad.

The fourth day starts after a typical breakfast and a much-needed shower. We visit the Dades Gorge, one of the natural wonders where rivers, mountains, rocks, and curves come together to form a marvelous panorama for the eyes. After witnessing this magical landscape, we set off to another enchanting gorge called Todgha, which will amaze you with its breathtaking river and rock walls reaching 300 meters in height. Feel free to wander around the area and appreciate its beauty.

Later, after a break for lunch, we depart for the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, you will board a camel to cross the golden dunes. In the middle of the dunes, you will take a break to admire the sunset, then continue your journey to the desert camp, where tea and sweets await you. Enjoy dinner and desert vibes with Berber music performed by the staff. Overnight stay in a comfortable tent.

Our journey to see the Gnawa musicians begins today. We will also visit a fossil museum and enjoy tea with real nomads who live behind the Erg Chebbi dunes. Later on, in Mefiss, where many mines still exist even after Morocco’s independence, some locals continue extracting fossils, eyeliner, and minerals from depths ranging between 100 and 300 meters underground. Next, we will have lunch at a local restaurant specializing in traditional Berber pizza.

After that, we continue our exploration with a visit to one of the area’s oases. If you are interested in experiencing the thrill of quad biking in the desert, please inform your driver so the necessary arrangements can be made. Afterward, we will transfer you to the hotel. Wake up early today to catch one last sunrise in the desert and witness the magical view of the sand’s colors changing as the sun rises. After leaving Merzouga, the 10 Days in Morocco tour takes us to Fes via the Ziz Valley, Midelt, and the Cedar Forest, where Barbary macaques live. We will also pass through Ifrane, a city located in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, known as the Little Switzerland of Morocco. In the late afternoon, we arrive in the scientific capital, Fes, for an overnight stay at a well-known traditional Riad located in the heart of the Medina.

After breakfast, begin your day with a charming city tour of Fes. An experienced local guide from the city will accompany you, showing you all of Fes’s interesting sites and answering any questions you may have about the history or anything you didn’t understand. The sightseeing tour begins at the Blue Gate, or Bab Bou Jeloud, the city’s most recognizable landmark. You will be amazed by the beautiful architecture and the detailed blue tile work.

Next, visit Fes el-Bali (Old Medina), one of the world’s largest car-free urban zones, with winding lanes that are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your visit to the Medina includes the tanneries, Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, and the university. Your city tour will conclude with a return to the Riad for the night.

The eighth day starts with a journey from Fes to Chefchaouen, unveiling Morocco’s rich history and stunning landscapes while blending ancient wonders and cultural charm. The first stop today is Meknes, an imperial city steeped in history. Feel free to visit the following sites if they are open (Bab Mansour, Qara Prison, Sahrij and Hri Souani, and finally the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum).

Next, we continue to Volubilis, where the Roman ruins stand as a testament to a bygone era, inviting exploration among ancient columns and worn stones. Afterward, we cross the Rif Mountains to reach the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen. Once we drop you off at your Riad, feel free to wander and stroll around the Medina.

Today begins with a typical breakfast before leaving Chefchaouen for a journey to Casablanca via Rabat. Along the way, enjoy the mesmerizing landscapes lining the highway. Upon arrival in Morocco’s capital and royal city, Rabat, we begin a short city tour to discover the hidden gems and historical sites of this well-organized and clean city. Our first stop is the Hassan Tower.

Built in 1195 by Yacoub al-Mansour, the Hassan Tower is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is part of a larger complex that also includes the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. We then visit the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a magnificent and historically significant fortified citadel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Bou Regreg River. After lunch in Rabat, we continue to Casablanca, where we will spend the night in a charming hotel.

Today we will leave Casablanca and head to the city of Marrakech. Before hitting the road, we pay a brief visit to the fascinating seventh-largest mosque in the world and the third-largest in Africa, known as the Hassan II Mosque. Once the visit is over, we continue our journey. We will reach Marrakech after a 3-hour drive. At the airport, your Morocco 10 Day itinerary from Marrakech comes to an end.
