10 Days in Morocco from Marrakech

Your 10 Days tour from Marrakech begins with a warm airport welcome by a highly knowledgeable driver-guide. After meeting at the airport, you’ll be transferred comfortably to the Medina, where you’ll settle into a traditional riad and enjoy your first overnight stay in Marrakech.

Today, you’re free to enjoy a bit more wandering before continuing your journey. Once you’re ready, we head into Marrakech, where a knowledgeable local guide awaits for a full day of discovery. As one of Morocco’s four imperial cities and one of the most visited cities in the world Marrakech is rich in history, culture, and vibrant daily life.

With your guide, you’ll uncover the hidden gems that make the city truly special. The colors, sounds, and aromas of Marrakech will surround you as you explore its most iconic landmarks. The city tour includes the ancient Medina, Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and finally the lively Jamaa el Fna Square, the beating heart of the city.

Today, we leave Marrakech and begin our scenic journey toward Boumalne Dades, arriving in the afternoon. Along the way, we make several stops to admire the changing landscapes and capture beautiful photos. About two hours after departure, we reach Tizi N’Tichka Pass, set high in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, where panoramic views await.

We then continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. You’ll have free time to explore this historic fortified village at your own pace. Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant near the kasbah before continuing the drive through Ouarzazate and the picturesque Valley of Roses.

Upon arrival in Boumalne Dades, we make a short visit to the stunning Dades Gorge and the unique Monkey Fingers rock formations. The day concludes with a drop-off at your traditional riad for a relaxing overnight stay.

From Boumalne Dades, we drive toward the spectacular Todgha Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural sites. Towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters, and in some sections the gorge narrows to just 10 meters wide. A clear river flows through the canyon, and you’re free to take a peaceful walk along its banks while enjoying the dramatic scenery.

Afterward, we continue to Rissani, home to one of the most vibrant traditional markets in southeastern Morocco. People from more than 160 surrounding villages, including Merzouga, gather here to trade goods and experience authentic local life.

By afternoon, we reach the golden dunes of Merzouga, where your camels will be waiting. You’ll ride across the dunes, stopping along the way to admire a breathtaking Sahara sunset, before continuing to your desert camp. The evening includes a traditional dinner and a lively Berber drum party around the campfire, followed by an overnight stay under the stars in the heart of the desert.

Today is dedicated to exploring the Sahara Desert on what truly feels like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. After breakfast, you’ll ride your camel back to the village of Merzouga, where you meet your driver-guide to begin a desert discovery tour. The first stop is Khamlia Village, famous for its deep African roots and energetic Gnawa music. Here, locals welcome you with rhythmic beats that often turn into an impromptu dance under the open desert sky. From Khamlia, we continue to Mefiss, where you’ll explore the remains of ancient mines silent witnesses to the harsh yet resilient desert life.

Next, we visit a nomad family living behind the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll be welcomed with genuine hospitality, share mint tea, and learn about traditional Berber life in the desert. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, we take a relaxed walk through one of the nearby desert oases, a refreshing contrast to the surrounding dunes. At the end of this enriching day, you’ll be dropped off at a charming hotel on the edge of the dunes, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the magic of the Sahara.

Wake up early to enjoy your final sunrise over the golden dunes, a peaceful and unforgettable moment in the Sahara. After breakfast at your hotel, we leave Merzouga and begin our journey north toward Fes. Along the way, we stop at the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves and dramatic scenery. Lunch is enjoyed in Midelt, before continuing to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the wild Barbary macaques.

You may feed them if you wish, but we recommend doing so carefully. Our journey continues to Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its clean streets, alpine-style architecture, and lush greenery. By late afternoon, we arrive in Fes, where you’ll be dropped off at your traditional riad located in the heart of the Medina for an overnight stay.

Like Marrakech, Fes deserves a full day of discovery. With a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll dive deep into the history of what is considered the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city. Your visit begins at the impressive Golden Gates of the Royal Palace, where you can admire the craftsmanship and scale of the palace walls despite restricted access. You’ll then visit a traditional ceramics factory, watching skilled artisans shape tiles, bowls, vases, and intricate mosaics using age-old techniques.

Inside the ancient Medina, your guide leads you through its timeless maze to explore the famous tanneries, the elegant Nejjarine Fountain, Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, and the historic Bou Inania Madrasa. After the guided tour ends, you’ll meet your driver and return to your riad in the Medina for another relaxing overnight stay in Fes.

We then continue to Volubilis, a remarkable Roman archaeological site where ancient columns, mosaics, and stone ruins tell the story of a long-forgotten civilization.

After exploring the site, the journey continues through the scenic Rif Mountains, offering stunning views along the way. By afternoon, we arrive in the blue-painted town of Chefchaouen. After being dropped off at your riad, you’re free to wander through the Medina at your own pace, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and iconic blue streets.

The ninth day of your tour is dedicated to fully enjoying the charm of Chefchaouen. After a relaxed breakfast, begin your day with a leisurely walk through the city’s iconic blue-painted streets, where every corner offers a perfect photo opportunity. Later, visit Ras El Ma, a lively natural spring at the edge of the Medina. It’s a wonderful spot to rest, enjoy a fresh orange juice, or even have lunch beside the flowing water. In the afternoon, take a gentle hike up to the Spanish Mosque, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic sunset over Chefchaouen. As evening falls, return to the Medina and spend time at Outa El Hammam Square, soaking in the local atmosphere, street life, and relaxed rhythm of this beautiful mountain town.
