After enjoying a leisurely lunch, we continue our journey to Kalaat M’Gouna, a well-known and charming small city surrounded by roses. Finally, we will arrive at Boumalne Dades, where we will spend a peaceful night in a lovely Riad.
Today, after a typical breakfast, before leaving the enchanting Atlas Mountains of Boumalne, we pay a small, short visit to the Dades Gorge. It’s a stunning and breathtaking site where you can take a memorable picture and witness the panoramic view of Tissadrin curves. Furthermore, we continue to the Todgha Gorge, which is a breathtaking and somewhat otherworldly landscape. After spending some time in the gorge, we continue to Rissani, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, a city that is home to a significant population of Gnaoua people, who are known for their unique music and spiritual traditions.
The town is also famous for its traditional souks (markets), which are known for their lively atmosphere and diverse array of goods such as spices, textiles, handicrafts, and livestock. Next to Merzouga once we are there Ride your camel and head to the desert camp for an overnight stay. Upon arrival at the camp, enjoy a delicious dinner, dance to Berber drum music, and end your journey by watching the stars.
We dedicate the fifth day of your 15-day Morocco tour to immersing ourselves in the region’s cultures and traditions, as well as the Berber lifestyle. The first thing you could do after having a typical breakfast is take a stroll around the painted streets. Next, visit the breathtaking Ras el Ma is a fantastic and amazing live venue where you can enjoy a delicious fresh orange juice or have lunch in the middle of a baby river. Later, not far away, make some efforts to hike the mountain to reach the Spanish Mosque in order to catch a fascinating sunset. After you catch the magical sunset view, make your way back to Medina to enjoy what the locals show at the famous Outa Hmmam Square.
Before saying goodbye to the fascinating city of Chefchaouen, take a last stroll in the Medina and buy what you want to buy! Once you are ready to go, we cross the Rif Mountains, making our way to Asilah via Tangier. Once we arrive at the bride of the North Tangier, feel free to have a wander at the ancient Medina of Tangier, which has been a crossroads of civilizations and the focus of many ambitions due to its strategic location, considering that during ancient times it was conquered successively by the Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Visigoths, and Arabs.
The ruins left behind by the French, Portuguese, and Spanish can also be seen. While we are still in Tangier, we are going to visit two main attractions, which are the Cape Spartel and the Cave of Hercule. The Cape Spartel is a Moroccan lighthouse at the confluence of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in Ras Sbartel, west of Tangier. It is the oldest lighthouse in Morocco and was built in 1864 by order of Sultan Mohammed IV after the Dona Isabel of the Brazilian military navy collided with cliffs near Ras Spartel, after which 250 Brazilian sailors died.
The Hercule Cave is a deep cave on which the waves of the sea break at every tide, and visitors enter it in darkness until the opening of the light, which is a window under the mountain overlooking the waters of the Atlantic and draws a map similar to the map of Africa. Entering the cave is a world of mystery fueled by the ancient legend about the history of the cave.
The area of the legendary cave is estimated at 30 meters underground, as it is considered the largest cave in Africa and one of the most important legendary landmarks in the world. It is the most prominent myth emanating from the history of Greek culture, and its settlement, according to these legends, dates back to 5,000 years BC.
After we visit all of Tangier’s historical landmarks, we move on to Asilah for the night.
The 15-day Morocco tour begins with a traditional breakfast and travel via Rabat to Casablanca. On the way to Rabat, unfortunately, there is nothing to stop for, but you can still watch the landscapes of each region we pass by. Once we reach Rabat, we start a quick city tour of the capital city, including the historical landmark of the Hassan Tower. Sultan Yacoub Al-Mansour ordered the construction of the silo during the Almohad era. Sultan Yacoub Al-Mansour initiated the construction of the silo in 594 AH, or 1198 AD, positioning it as the third sister to the Giralda silo in Spain and the Koutaiba silo in Marrakech.
Thereafter, we visit the Oudayas Kasbah, the fragrance of history and the echo of Andalusia, which dates back to the 12th century. After that, we will visit Chellah, the ancient commercial center, one of the places steeped in history whose founding dates back to the sixth century BC. It’s going to be a hard day—275 kilometers ahead of us! Let’s go from Casablanca and head to the little, charming artistic town of Essaouira on the western coast of the nation. Pack your bags and eat breakfast. We will drop you off at your riad, which is situated in the old Medina, when you arrive in Essaouira.
Today, our task is to explore Essaouira city, formerly known as Mogador. You can enjoy walking through the old streets of the Medina, swimming at one of the best beaches in the country, and tasting delicious fish dishes fresh from the sea in this small, fortified city, covered by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Also, if you want to experience horseback riding beside the ocean or quads, feel free to ask your guide. You will spend the night at the Charming Riad, which is situated in the Medina.
Today, take a last stroll around the city’s alleyways in Essaouira. Later, we leave for Marrakech. Along the way, we will stop at a women’s cooperative to discover what they produce from the argan tree. Lunch on the road, then continue to Marrakech.
