As we traverse the scenic landscapes, our first stop in Tazenakht introduces you to the renowned Berber rugs and textiles of the region. Continuing on through winding mountain roads, we will be captivated by the rugged beauty of the High Atlas. Arriving in Agdez by evening, nestled in the Draa Valley, we will unwind with a delicious dinner and settle into your accommodations, preparing for the adventures ahead in Morocco’s southern realms.

Today’s journey leads deeper into Morocco’s desert wonders. Departing from Agdez, we will traverse the Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Upon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, you have the opportunity to contemplate the change in sand colors according to daylight, especially when sitting on top of these dunes, which are the highest in Morocco. Most visitors to Merzouga find simplicity away from the hustle and bustle of contemporary life. You will find your camels waiting for you in the Sahara Desert to take you on a trip of a lifetime. These are moments that you will undoubtedly never forget. Riding a camel gives you the opportunity to be amazed at the desert in slow motion. Beauty and magic are everywhere. 

The golden sands are a haven for relaxation, enjoyment, and diving. The camels will cross the small and high dunes to reach your desert camp, which is located in the heart of the desert. You will sleep in a wonderful tent; there is nothing better than that. You will dance to Berber music’s songs with A full moon illuminates the night.

Good morning. Are you ready to continue the 8 Days in Morocco tour? Once you have breakfast at the desert camp, mount back your camel and cross once again the dunes to reach the same pick-up point as yesterday. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up to explore the Merzouga region. First, you will visit Khamlia Village, where black-skinned people live. The inhabitants are known as Gnawa because they play African rhythms. By the way, the original inhabitants here in the villages are from Mali, Senegal, South Africa, and other countries.

They have immigrated to Morocco to run away from poverty and the bad circumstances in their original countries. Give them a tip for the music, and then we head to Mefiss, a mountain that the French colonized prior to Morocco’s independence. The area is rich in minerals, eyeliner stones, and fossils. Later, we continue to discover the lifestyle of one of the Nomad’s families, who lives behind the Erg Chebbi Dunes. After having a cup of tea with them, we pay a tip, then we leave for lunch in a Berber restaurant. After our journey ends, we transfer you to the hotel for the night.

Ready to leave the breathtaking desert of Merzouga? Take a last wander at the closest dune to your hotel as a way to say goodbye to this incredible area. After completing your activities, we will proceed to Rissani, renowned for its breathtaking market that operates three times a week. If we are lucky, we will come on the day of the souk, a day where everybody is busy either selling or buying something. The market welcomes people from over 360 villages.

Later, once we finish the strolling, we drive to Todgha Gorge, a must-see tourist attraction in Morocco. Over centuries, the Todga River carved the Todra Gorge, a natural oasis in the eastern part of the Atlas Mountains, out of limestone. With canyon walls reaching over 400 meters high, it is taller than the Empire State Building in New York. Once we reach Boumalne, Dades, we drop you off in a quaint riad.

From Boumalne Dades, we leave for Marrakech, passing through many wonderful places that can mark a great moment in your memory. We begin our journey to the magnificent city of Kalaat M’Gouna, where you can immerse yourself in the Rose Valley and explore one of the local women’s cooperatives that specialize in Producing various products from roses. From Kalaat M’Gouna, we proceed to Ouarzazate, a city that ceased to exist for a century and was initially a military settlement. The construction of numerous film studios in Ouarzazate has led to the city’s rise to fame and development.

To Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah!

Afterward, the fortified castle of Ait Ben Haddou, which dates back to the 11th century of its construction, settled not far from Ouarzazate. Films such as Lawrence of Arabia in 1971, Games of Thrones in 2012, and Kingdom of Heaven in 2003–2004 have shot hundreds of scenes here. From there, we continue to Marrakech via Tizi N T’ichka Pass, at an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level. We will take a moment to take in the magnificent atmosphere before continuing our journey to Marrakech, but not before stopping for a delicious lunch. Upon arrival, we transfer you to the Riad for an overnight stay.

Your sixth Day in Morocco starts with a perfect way to explore Marrakech and the shining Sites that this Moroccan imperial city has to show. Morocco is undoubtedly a rich country which means every city has something special historical, cultural, or even Traditional. Today, after a typical breakfast, we make our way to Essaouira, which spans approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Along the way, immerse yourself in the beautiful scenic route and the breathtaking views. We will make a stop at a women’s cooperative that specializes in the production of argan oil, amlou, honey, and various other products. Next, take a drive to Essaouira. Once we arrive, you have ample time to explore the streets of the Medina and also take a stroll to the small, picturesque beach.

Today is the last of your 8 Days Morocco Trip. Feel free to make a last stroll in Medina. Once you are ready to go, we drive along the coastline to Agadir we might pause in Taghazout a wonderful town known for the high waves here cause of the wind.
