Morocco itinerary: 3 Day Morocco tour

Day 1:Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

The 3 Days from Fes to Merzouga Starts from your Accommodation. Once being picked up by an experienced driver guide you will be Leaving Fes behind and drive onward to the southeast of Morocco. After leaving Fes we will cross The Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, a Moroccan town known as Little Switzerland. The city’s vibrant flowerbeds and red-roofed chalets make for a lovely image against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Afterwards, we depart from Ifrane and travel to the renowned Cedar Forest, situated near Azrou. Here, we encounter the untamed Barbary macaques, who have migrated from Gibraltar to Morocco through commercial ships. After spending some time in the forest, we set off again to Zaida for a barbecue lunch, then we continue to Ziz Valley, where thousands of palm trees and terraced fields create a colorful mosaic against the backdrop of the dry desert.

Next, we continue to Erfoud, a city famous for fossils and dates. If we arrive early, we might do a small tour in the market. From there, we hit the road again, this time to Merzouga’s Sahara Desert where enormous dunes rise like golden waves. Upon arrival, ride your camel that was waiting for you for a while, cross the dunes, and make a stop in the middle of the dunes to catch a wonderful sunset, then mount your camel again to the desert camp. Once you arrive, the Berber staff will greet you with a mint glass of tea, serve you a Berber dinner, and invite you to join them for a music-filled gathering around the fire. Last but not least, spend some time reflecting while gazing up at the stars.

Day 2:Free exploration day in Merzouga Desert

Today, undeniably, is going to be an amazing one. After breakfast in your camp, you can choose to travel to the village either by camels or a 4×4 car. The day began with a visit to a nomadic Berber family in the desert. Learn about their traditional way of life, including their customs, daily routines, and survival skills in the harsh desert environment. We will, for sure, enjoy tea with them as you listen to their stories and gain insight into their rich cultural heritage. Next, we visit nearby mines, such as the Mefis Mines, known for their mineral deposits. Here, you will learn about the history of mining in the region and its significance to the local economy.

You will also explore the mines with a knowledgeable guide, learning about the extraction process and the various minerals found in the area. Afterward, move on. Meet with local Gnawa musicians and learn about their unique musical genre, which blends African, Berber, and Arabic influences. Experience a live Gnawa music performance, featuring mesmerizing rhythms and energetic dances that evoke the spirit of the desert. After lunch, we will transport you to your hotel for the night.

Day 3:Sahara Desert - Erfoud - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

This is the last day of your 3-day Morocco tour! Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the golden dunes in front of your hotel! Once you have your breakfast. We’ll leave the tranquility of the desert and head for Fes, via Rissani. We have ample time to stroll through Rissani’s Market. We aim to explore the traditional crafts produced by the artisans in this small city.

Explore its centuries-old alleys, dating back to the city’s inception. The city experiences unusual demand on Thursday, Sunday, and Tuesday. Next, we drive along the Ziz Valley route to reach Midelt where we will make a short pause for lunch then continue to Cedar Forest again for a brief stop if you desire, later on to Ifrane and Finnaly Fes where your 3 Days Morocco tour come to an end.
