After a typical breakfast in your Riad, we pay a short visit to the stunning gorge in Dades to witness the beautiful view of what this place has to offer. Nevertheless, in Dades, we stop to visit the monkey finger rocks. Thereafter, we head to Tinghir Gorge, passing by enchanting Berber villages and breathtaking views along the way. Once in the Gorge, we take a walk along the Todgha River, which met the Dades River and formed a stream extending for about 28 km. The two rivers slowly carved the sandstone and limestone, eventually forming a giant river with a depth of about 500 meters.

The Gorge has a wonderful view from the top of the canyons, especially for those who climb the rocks. Later, take a break for lunch at a traditional local restaurant, then move on, not far from the Gorge, and stop to capture the spectacular view of the Todgha Valley. From there, we head to Malaab Village, where you can try on traditional Berber outfits and take a photo with them in front of the palm trees that lie in the area. Furthermore, we finally leave for the Sahara Desert.

Upon arrival, enjoy the camel ride, crossing the golden dunes with a stop at a top viewpoint to watch the magical sunset. Upon arrival at the camp, you will experience the traditional Moroccan welcome of a teacup filled with nuts or sweets, followed by a delicious dinner and Berber music around the campfire. Without a doubt, it’s going to be a memorable night full of dancing and great vibes.

Day 7: Free Exploration Day in Merzouga Desert

Good morning. Are you ready to continue the 8 Days in Morocco tour? Once you have breakfast at the desert camp, mount back your camel and cross once again the dunes to reach the same pick-up point as yesterday. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up to explore the Merzouga region. First, you will visit Khamlia Village, where black-skinned people live. The inhabitants are known as Gnawa because they play African rhythms. By the way, the original inhabitants here in the villages are from Mali, Senegal, South Africa, and other countries.

They have immigrated to Morocco to run away from poverty and the bad circumstances in their original countries. Give them a tip for the music, and then we head to Mefiss, a mountain that the French colonized prior to Morocco’s independence. The area is rich in minerals, eyeliner stones, and fossils. Later, we continue to discover the lifestyle of one of the Nomad’s families, who lives behind the Erg Chebbi Dunes. After having a cup of tea with them, we pay a tip, then we leave for lunch in a Berber restaurant. After our journey ends, we transfer you to the hotel for the night.

Day 8:Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todgha Gorge - Boumalne Dades

Our visit to Morocco’s southeast ends here! Today we leave the Sahara Desert and drive to Fes, known as the scientific capital of Morocco. Along the way, we will stop at the charming panoramic view overlooking the Ziz Valley. Later, we will stop for lunch in either Zaida or Medilt; additionally, we will visit the Cedar Forest, where the wild Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them if you wish, but be careful; they are a bit dangerous. Afterward, we continue to Ifrane, the little Switzerland of Morocco.
