Today’s first stop is Tizi N’Tichka, a picturesque pass in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. The site is 2260 meters above sea level. From there, we drive straight to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Since 1987, UNESCO has registered it as a World Heritage Site. It is located between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. Feel free to climb the stairs of the Kasbah to reach the top of the hill to witness the breathtaking oasis and river. Therefore, we continue to Ouarzazate the “Hollywood of Africa” then Kalaat M’Gouna the Rose City. In the afternoon we drop you in your accommodation in Boumalne Dades for an overnight stay.
Today presents us with the highlight of this 10-day Morocco Desert Tour. After a typical breakfast in your Riad, we pay a short visit to the stunning gorge in Dades to witness the beautiful view of what this place has to offer. Nevertheless, in Dades, we stop to visit the monkey finger rocks. Thereafter, we head to Tinghir Gorge, passing by enchanting Berber villages and breathtaking views along the way. Once in the Gorge, we take a walk along the Todgha River, which met the Dades River and formed a stream extending for about 28 km. The two rivers slowly carved the sandstone and limestone, eventually forming a giant river with a depth of about 500 meters.
The Gorge has a wonderful view from the top of the canyons, especially for those who climb the rocks. Later, take a break for lunch at a traditional local restaurant, then move on, not far from the Gorge, and stop to capture the spectacular view of the Todgha Valley. From there, we head to Malaab Village, where you can try on traditional Berber outfits and take a photo with them in front of the palm trees that lie in the area. Furthermore, we finally leave for the Sahara Desert.
