5 Days in Morocco from Tangier

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier » Visit the Historical attractions » Drive to Chefchaouen

Your 5 Day Morocco itinerary begins, with an ideal airport pickup by one of our knowledgeable driver guides, once you arrive your driver will pick you up to the Medina to visit some of the historical sits as no doubt the first is the cave of Hercule. The cave is one of the most famous in Morocco, and when you first enter it, you feel a sense of mystery and suspense. Its long catacombs stretch for thirty kilometers underground inside a rocky highland where the sea waves break at its entrances every day at every tide.

Next, drive to the second Landmark which is the Cape Spartel one of the oldest lighthouses in the world and the first in Morocco’s network of 39 historic maritime lighthouses. “An accident involving a ship with 250 sea cadets on board, and Sultan Mohammed bin Abdel Rahman’s instruction to erect this historic edifice at his expense” was the main reason for its construction. Later, we make a small tour of the Medina, then we cross the Rif Mountains to reach our destination the blue city (Chefchaouen) for an overnight stay.

    Day 2: Chefchaouen » Volubilis » Meknes » Fes

Today, on the second day of your 5-day Morocco tour, we drive from the blue city to Fes via the ancient landmarks of Volubilis and Meknes. Once we cross the Rif Mountains, our first stop is in Volubilis. The city of Volubilis is the oldest archaeological site in Morocco, according to historical sources, and its appearance on the map of Morocco may date back to the third century BC. This city had a significant impact on people’s lives due to its unique distinction, as it is recognized internationally for housing the most important civilizations.

And the most famous of them. From there, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. In Meknes, you can see many wonderful sites, such as the Hri Souani, Sahrij Souani, Qara Prison, Bab el Manosour, and lastly, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the city’s builder. Afterwards, we leave for Fes to stay overnight in a lovely traditional Riad located at the heart of the Medina.

Day 3: Fes » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Midelt » Zaida » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Sahara Desert

Today we depart from Fez and travel to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga via Ifrane, Cedar Forest, and Ziz Valley. After leaving Fes, we will make our first stop in Ifrane, the Little Switzerland, one of the most beautiful and clean cities in Morocco. Later We continue to the Cedar Forest, highly regarded for its cultural, ecological, and artistic aspects, due to the ample snowfall in the Middle Atlas Mountains. It is considered one of the most renowned woodlands in Morocco. Here, the well-known Barbary Macaques live; feel free to feed them if you desire.

    Next to Sahara Desert!

After lunch in Zaida, we set off to the Ziz Valley, and then Finnly reaches the Merzouga Desert, where you will ride your camels and let them lead you on a magical journey through the golden sand. While you’re crossing the small and large dunes, the camel man will stop at a wonderful panoramic view to let you catch a magical sunset. Once you’re there in the camp, have a much-needed shower and dinner. Later, enjoy the Berber music around the campfire. Before you go to sleep, spend some time watching the stars at one of the closest dune distances from the camp’s lights.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert » Rissani » Todgha Gorge » Boumalne Dades

Ready to leave the breathtaking desert of Merzouga? Take a last wander at the closest dune to your hotel as a way to say goodbye to this absolutely incredible area. After completing your activities, we will proceed to Rissani, renowned for its breathtaking market that operates three times a week. If we are lucky, we will come on the day of the souk, a day where everybody is busy either selling or buying something. The market welcomes people from over 360 villages.

Later, once we finish the strolling, we drive to Todgha Gorge, a must-see tourist attraction in Morocco. The Todga River carved the Todra Gorge, a natural oasis in the eastern part of the Atlas Mountains, through limestone over centuries. With canyon walls reaching over 400 meters high, it is taller than the Empire State Building in New York. Once we reach Boumalne, Dades, we drop you off in a quaint riad.

Day 5: Boumalen Ddaes » Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Tizi N’Tichka » Marrakech

Your adventure begins. Towards the stunning town of Kalaat M’Gouna, renowned for its fragrant rose gardens that carpet the valley in hues of pink and crimson, make a part of your time and visit one of the women’s cooperatives located in the area of Kalaat M’Gouna, which specializes in producing a variety of products from roses. Next, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where historic kasbahs and bustling markets offer a glimpse into the region’s storied past.

Later, visit the Fortified Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which will transport you back in time to an era of caravanserais and desert traders, where the echoes of history resonate in every crumbling facade. Finally, head to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N’Tichka Pass. Once we arrive in Marrakech, check in to your accommodation, leave your stuff in the room, and feel free to wander in the Medina or Jamaa el F’na square. End of your 5 Days Morocco Tour.
