Free time for lunch in Meknes then we move to Fes, here we stay the night in a fantastic Riad.

Day 3: Fes » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Midelt » Zaida » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Sahara Desert

In the early morning, we leave Fes City and hit the road towards the mesmerizing desert of Merzouga, where we will arrive an hour before sunset. From Fes to Merzouga Desert, we have several stops to make, such as in Ifrane, a city known as the Little Switzerland. Here, feel free to walk in its streets, which will make you feel as if you are in Europe. Once you are ready to continue, we will drive to the Cedar Forest, where we will see the wild macaques. If you want, buy some peanuts or bananas from Berber sellers in the area and feed the monkeys.

Later, we set off again for lunch in Zaida or Medilt, before continuing to the Sahara Desert. At around 5:30 o’clock of the afternoon, we reach the golden dunes of Merzouga. There, your camels wait to carry you to the camp. While you are crossing the vast desert, you will stop at the big dune to catch a wonderful sunset, then continue the way. A glass of mint tea and a Berber dinner await your arrival at the camp. In the camp, get ready to dance a lot, enjoy a lot, and live the real desert vibes.

Day 4: Free exploration day in Merzouga Desert

We’re still spending one more day in the desert region to see what the area has to offer and learn about the inhabitants’ cultures and traditions. Mount your camel and return to the village to meet your driver’s guide. First Visit for today is Khamlia Village, home of the Gnawa tribe. Amazing rhythms and a glass of mint tea greet every guest who enters their door as a sign of welcome. Before we depart, consider leaving a tip as a great way to show your support for them! Many minerals are extracted here and shipped to France in large quantities. Furthermore, we visit one of the Berber nomad families in their traditional tent for a cup of tea and learn more about their lifestyle, traditions, and culture. Before we leave the theme, please feel free to tip. It’s now time for lunch, which can be enjoyed at a restaurant that specializes in making Berber pizza. Our seven-day trip to Morocco with Africa North Journeys was nothing short of spectacular and excellent. Even we were a group of ten people. Moha, our driver guide, went beyond of his way to make sure we were all satisfied. Moha’s knowledge was extremely helpful in understanding the intricate history of this ancient country. The places we’ve seen and the sites we’ve seen are well worth the money we paid. Moroccan meal was amazing, and the people were very kind! And Morocco is a terrific place for your upcoming trip. We highly suggest Africa North Journeys and Moha as your driver guide.
