    2 Weeks in Morocco

    Day 1: Arrival in Tangier » Overnight stay in Tangier


    Welcome to Tangier, as well as to Morocco in general! The adventure of Morocco’s two-week itinerary starts with a welcome pickup from the airport of Ibnou Battuta in Tangier City. Your tour guide will drive you to your accommodation, either Riad or hotel, for the overnight stay.


    Day 2: Tangier » Cross the Rif Mountains » Chefchaouen


    Morocco two-week itinerary begins with a typical breakfast and then dives into a city tour to explore Tangier and its beautiful monuments that recognize the city. First, visit the old Medina. Feel free to wander in its fascinating alleys. Next to the Cape Spartel, which is located at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, The place is very famous for its picturesque lighthouse, which has been guiding ships since 1864. Later, make a final visit to Hercule’s Cave, a stunning natural site steeped in myth and history. The cave is renowned for its resemblance to the shape of Africa, particularly when viewed from the sea or when the map of Africa is flipped. The sea opening is known as “The Map of Africa.” Once you finish, we will move, to Chefchaouen. Known as the blue city. Upon arrival, we drop you off in a charming riad in the Medina.


    Day 3: Chefchaouen » Free Exploration Day


    You have a free day today to enjoy and explore the hidden gems of this blue town, nestled in the north of Morocco. Chefchaouen has so much to show you! First, take a tour of the narrow, blue-painted streets. Taste the Rif cuisine. Later, save some time and hike to the top of a mountain where a Spanish mosque is located. There, you can catch a breathtaking sunset over the old Medina. Enjoy the beautiful view and get back to your hotel for a second stay.


    Day 4: Chefchaouen » Volubilis » Meknes » Fes


    Your two-week trip to Morocco is still full of wonders. Today Wake up a bit early and have breakfast. If you still want to wander in the Medina, feel free to do it without hesitation. Once you have finished your breakfast, we depart from Chefchaouen and resume our journey to Fes. On the way, we will have some interesting stops; however, the main ones are at Volubilis and Meknes. Upon arrival, Volubilis, a Roman ruins city and the most significant Roman archaeological sites showcased the farthest extent of the Roman Empire’s reach in North Africa. We highly recommend hiring a local guide to delve into the history of this magical city and gain a deeper understanding. Later drive to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, is located on the front side. Feel free to visit the following sites: Bab el Mansour, Hri Souani, Sahrij, Qara Prison, and the famous Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Thereafter, we depart for Fes for an overnight stay.


    Day 5: Fes » City Tour with a Local Guide


    Today is similar to Marrakech is Planned for exploring Fes City and its Surroundings. A local tour guide is on the agenda to guide explore and understand the complex history of this most ancient City in the World. First, get started with the Famous Golden Gates of the Royal Palace the entry is totally prohibited but you still can at least see how and when the gates are built. Later walk along the place’s Walls to see how impressive they are. Next drive to the Ceramics Factory to discover how tiles, bowls, glasses, vases, and many more are handcrafted by local experts. Furthermore, get lost in the Medina to see other historical sites such as; the Najjarine fountain, Medrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and also the Quaraouin mosque and university (the oldest university in the world). Later back to the Riad for a second night stay.


    Day 6: Fes » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Ziz Valley » Sahara Desert (Merzouga)


    Pack your luggage and get well-started to hit the road towards Merzouga’s Desert. After having breakfast, we leave Fes. The Way will lead us to the small, cozy city of Ifrane, a town nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains, a place that has been a location for wild animals, in particular the lion. If you pay attention, you can see a lion statue in the city center, which means what we said above. Thereafter, we continue to the Cedar Forest a natural beauty, ecological importance, and cultural significance. It is also recognized as one of the most renowned forests in Morocco. Here, the famous barbary macaques live; feel free to feed them if you desire. 

    Next, continue to Ziz Valley. Also spelled Ziz Gorge, is a breathtaking natural wonder located in eastern Morocco. Later once you have lunch in a local restaurant, we continue to Merzouga Desert. Upon arrival Arrive at the Auberge and leave your luggage for the car to import to the camp. During your ride, your camels cross the dunes. Stop at one of the highest dunes to catch a memorable sunset, then continue to the desert camp. Once you arrive, take a much-needed hot shower and dinner, and get ready to enjoy a happy night under Berber drum rhythms. Later, catch the stars at one of the closest dunes away from the camp’s light.


    Day 7: Roundtrip in Sahara Desert of Merzouga


    Wake up early today to catch one of the best sunrises in your life, without a doubt. Enjoy the changing colors of the sand as the sun rises. Feel free to take a stroll around the camp or even hike the small, closest dunes to you! After you finish breakfast, choose either to come back to the village by camel or by off-road car. Once you meet your driver, drive to Khamlia, a dark-skinned village where the inhabitants came from West African countries such as Mali, Sudan, Senegal, and other countries.

    They will welcome you to their Gnawa association, where they can play original musical instruments for you and other tourists, while you enjoy a cup of tea with them. Next, we take a drive to Mefiss Mountain, a site where the French drilled numerous mines during their colonialism, feel free to explore the area with caution. After that, we visit a Nomad family to enjoy another cup of tea in their handwoven tent and learn about their lifestyle. Give a tip, and then we set off again to one of the local restaurants for lunch. Later, take a small tour of a nearby oasis before we drop you off at your hotel for an overnight stay.


    Day 8: Merzouga Desert » Rissani » Todgha Gorge » Boumalne Dades


    Today, we continue the Morocco two-week itinerary by leaving the Sahara Desert and heading west toward Boumalne Dades. After a one-hour drive, we stop in Rissani, a city famous for its traditional market, which goes live three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. You will walk around the market with your guide who will explain to you each part of the Market! Thereafter, we continue to Todgha Gorge, which offers a mix of adventure, natural beauty, and cultural exploration. Have a walk along the river and enjoy the tranquility of the High Atlas; it’s a place that embodies much of what makes Morocco enchanting. From there, we head to Tinghir city for a lunch break at a popular restaurant. Once you finish, we drive directly to Boumalne Dades for an overnight stay at a charming Riad.


    Day 9: Boumalne Dades » Dades Gorge » Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah » Tizi N’Tichka » Marrakech


    How beautiful it is to wake up in the middle of the Atlas Mountains to the birds’s sounds and songs. Before leaving for Marrakech, take your breakfast and pay a short visit to the Dades Gorge. The Gorge is a dramatic landscape, with towering rock formations, sheer cliff faces, and the Dades River winding its way through the gorge. Take some pictures, and let’s get on the road! We will will make a stop at the Rose Valley to take in the beautiful scenery and explore one of the local women’s cooperatives, learning about the products they produce. Afterward, we will travel to Ouarzazate, followed by a visit to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

    The Kasbah was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the 17th century. Hundreds of films have featured this culturally significant site. Movies like Game of Thrones and The Gladiator, among others, have showcased it, making it a favored destination for film enthusiasts. From there, we move to Marrakech. Via Tizi N’Tichka pass, which is situated at an elevation of 2260 meters above sea level. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we transfer you to a nice traditional riad in the Medina.


    Day 10: Sightseeing tour in Marrakech


    Today is similar to Fes; you will be exploring the city’s attractions with a local tour guide who knows every single corner of the city, as well as all the hidden gems! Meet your guide at the Riad and start sightseeing in the city. The tour lasts around 3 hours and includes the following sites: Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and the Old Medina (Market). The tour also includes visits to the Koutoubia Mosque and Jamaa el F’na. Once you say goodbye to your local guide, you can keep wandering on your own in the Medina. Overnight at the same Riad.


    Day 11: Marrakech » Essaouira 


    Your two-week Morocco itinerary is still ongoing. Today we drive to Essaouira and leave Marrakech behind. The journey from Marrakech to Essaouira will take us a full 3 hours, plus some stops along the way, either for coffee or at one of the nestled Argan women’s cooperatives. Upon arrival, Essaouira checks in to your Riad, and then feel free to wander in The Medina.


    Day 12: Free Exploration Day in Essaouira 


    An incredible day is about to start. Today, spend most of your free day relaxing at the beautiful, cozy beach or walking in the stunning alleys of the Medina. Also, don’t miss the chance to explore the Skala de la Ville, a historic fortification offering stunning views of the Medina and the ocean. As the day draws to a close, head to one of Essaouira’s scenic viewpoints to witness a breathtaking sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight at the same place as yesterday’s Riad, which is located at the heart of the Medina.


    Day 13: Essaouira » Casablanca


    Today, 375 km lie ahead of us. Pack your luggage, have your breakfast, and let’s hit the road to Casablanca! The whole way is just a highway; unfortunately, we won’t visit any cities, but you can still at least enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way between Essaouira and Casablanca. Stop for lunch on the way, and then we continue to our destination. Once we arrive, we transfer you directly to your hotel, where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing.


    Day 14: Casablanca Transfer to the Airport

    Your two-week itinerary in Morocco concludes with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque. This mosque is the seventh largest in the world, the third largest in Africa, and the grandest in Morocco. If your departure has not yet arrived, take a stroll in the Cornish and taste Moroccan fresh fish for the last time before leaving Morocco. Once your departure time has arrived, we will transfer you to Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca. From there, the Morocco two-week itinerary will come to an end.
